HOW THE HOSPITALITY PROGRAM WORKS
The BCI Skills Center is an innovative vocational training facility dedicated to offering job training programs for adults with disabilities, empowering them to develop the skills needed for competitive employment opportunities in a variety of industries, like hospitality.
Step 1: Assessment and Enrollment
Each participant undergoes an assessment tailored to their selected vocational program to assess their readiness. If the vocation isn’t a good fit, applicants are guided toward other training opportunities or employment services better aligned with their strengths and interests.
Step 2: Customized Curriculum
Programs typically last for six weeks. The curriculum covers essential hospitality skills, including safe chemical handling, operating laundry equipment, and replenishing guest supplies. Soft skills, such as punctuality and teamwork, are also taught, preparing students for competitive integrated employment and successful careers.
Step 3: Real-World Application
BCI’s team works closely with local employers to provide job placements for adults with special needs in real hotel settings. Students apply what they’ve learned in hospitality environments, gaining valuable experience while receiving continuous mentorship and feedback.
Step 4: Job Placement and Support
Upon completing the Hospitality Program, graduates receive job placement assistance and are matched with employers who are committed to inclusive hiring practices. We help students secure fulfilling careers and provide ongoing support to ensure long-term success in their roles.
