YOUR WORK CAN HELP OTHERS

Hospitals and other social service facilities are the backbones of our communities. As such, they need all different kinds of workers to come together and deliver expert care in a safe environment.

When you work at a hospital or senior living facility, you support people and families when they are at their most vulnerable. You get the satisfaction of knowing that your work makes a difference every day.

BJC HealthCare

As one of the largest nonprofit health care integrated delivery organizations in the country, BJC HealthCare serves the needs of urban, suburban and rural communities and includes 15 hospitals and multiple community health locations.

The Skills Center’s BJC HealthCare program trains individuals for Housekeeper positions on the Facilities Services team. Housekeepers play an especially important role at BJC and are responsible for making sure the patient and worker environments stay clean and sterile.

Students in this program will participate in class presentations, discussions, and hands-on training activities. Coursework will be completed at the Skills Center, thanks to a generous donation of replica classroom equipment and supplies from BJC HealthCare.

Upon successful completion and hiring, students will begin careers as Housekeepers at one of three area BJC hospitals: Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in Creve Coeur, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, or Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon.
