Hospitals and other social service facilities are the backbones of our communities. As such, they need all different kinds of workers to come together and deliver expert care in a safe environment.
When you work at a hospital or senior living facility, you support people and families when they are at their most vulnerable. You get the satisfaction of knowing that your work makes a difference every day.
As one of the largest nonprofit health care integrated delivery organizations in the country, BJC HealthCare serves the needs of urban, suburban and rural communities and includes 15 hospitals and multiple community health locations.
In this program, students will be prepared to work as Housekeepers. They will train onsite at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in Creve Coeur and learn how to clean different areas of the hospital, prepare rooms for new patients, restock and replenish supplies, and use various floor cleaning machinery. Housekeepers play an especially important role at BJC and are responsible for making sure patient and staff environments remain clean and sterile.
Students will learn through class presentations, discussions, and hands-on training activities. After successfully completing the training program, students will be hired by Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital and begin their careers as members of the Facilities Services team.
