We are excited to announce that BCI’s fall Open House is Wednesday, September 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. at our Lincoln County facility located at 245 College Campus Drive, Moscow Mills, Mo. 63362.
“Having purchased this building in May and preparing to begin a 10,000-square-foot expansion makes open house a bit more exciting this year,” said BCI CEO Troy Compardo. “We invite everyone to join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour to see how we’re expanding to serve Lincoln County better and create more employment opportunities for people with disabilities.”
In addition to a guided tour of the Moscow Mills organizational employment program, attendees can meet with our competitive employment and Skills Center vocational training teams. These teams work with clients to achieve and sustain competitive, integrated employment in the community.
“Connecting with our employment team is the first step,” said BCI Chief Program Officer of Employment Services Matt Jannings. “Whether you’re preparing to graduate high school or seeking a new opportunity, we have an extensive network of hiring and training partners, and we’re eager to guide you through the process.”
BCI is one of Missouri’s largest and most innovative agencies for connecting individuals with disabilities to meaningful employment. We operate contract packaging facilities in St. Charles and Moscow Mills that employ 230 employees and offer programs that support another 125 individuals who work in the community annually.
On the other hand, BCI can be a vital resource for businesses that seek qualified workers. We currently work with seven businesses that directly hire men and women with disabilities as partners in our Skills Center vocational training program. Another 50 inclusively minded businesses have indicated they are open to hiring BCI clients who match with them during the discovery and exploration job-search process.
“Our employment continuum uniquely positions us to assist businesses in strengthening their talent pipeline,” said Jannings. “We currently have over 40 adults with disabilities who graduated from the BCI Skills Center working at True Manufacturing in O’Fallon, and they are excelling. We invite any Lincoln County business interested in inclusive hiring to come and talk with our team at the open house.”
Immediately before the event, BCI will recognize several local businesses, including Cuivre River Electric Cooperative and Toyota Missouri, in a ribbon cutting to dedicate the plant’s new patio. The outdoor space features handicapped-accessible tables and a shade pergola, providing BCI employees with a comfortable setting for lunches and breaks. Thanks to the generous donations of labor, materials, and funds from these companies, BCI opened the patio in July.
While the open house is free, advance registration is requested at https://BCIfallopenhouse2024.eventbrite.com. For more information, contact Dee Gerstenkorn at (636) 875-5245.
